True Partners in Ground-Up Development

The Boise, Treasure Valley, and Magic Valley cityscapes are dotted with projects on which Cushing Terrell’s design teams have partnered with developers and clients to accomplish ground-up design. Examples include offices, corporate campuses, multi-family complexes, healthcare facilities, industrial complexes, banks, retail stores, and restaurants, among many others.

In addition to a full, multi-disciplinary team including architects, interior designers, MEP and structural engineers, refrigeration design specialists, and community planners, our specialty services include energy modeling and evaluation, community outreach, sustainability analysis and LEED certification, bond procurement, construction management, and post-occupancy evaluation.

Our firm prides itself on being true partners with developers, ensuring every detail is considered and value is maximized.

I have found the Cushing Terrell team to be diligent and hard-working. They are organized and deliver work products on time. They have been excellent communicators amongst all team members including contractor, architecture, interior design, engineering, and sales.
The team excels at problem-solving and is committed to meeting the overall goals of project ownership. They have demonstrated the ability to be flexible when unforeseen challenges arise and adaptable to new circumstances.

Designing the Perfect Grocery Experience, Together

Great supermarkets deliver local flavors, offer multi-sensory experiences, and convey authenticity. Our multi-disciplinary team in Boise, ID, has a deep background in the design of grocery stores that are specialized, branded, and sustainable. Share your values, vision, and passion with us and we’ll help you deliver a branded shopping experience.

Owing to our close partnerships with national brands such as Costco, Target, Walmart, and Whole Foods Market, plus regional and local stores like Albertsons and Boise Co-op, our team thoroughly understands program delivery. We partner with grocery purveyors of all sizes to create sustainable yet cost-effective designs that consider the latest in refrigeration technology, customer flow, lighting, kitchen organization, customer seating, grab-and-go options, interactive cooking demonstrations, curbside pick-up, and more.

Healthcare Design That Inspires Wellness for All

The Boise team spearheads much of the work completed by Cushing Terrell’s multi-office Healthcare design studio. We’ve completed a plethora of acute care and outpatient services projects for local entities such as St. Luke’s and Saltzer Health, and worked with dozens of other providers throughout the western United States.

But our team of healthcare-dedicated architects, interior designers, engineers, and more travels exceedingly well. We’ve helped design new and expanded critical access hospitals and rural campuses for Humboldt General Hospital in Nevada, Lake District Hospital in Oregon, Washakie Medical Center in Wyoming, and many others.

We assist clients in navigating the complexities of an ever-changing industry while supporting their ability to provide patient-centered care — often by staging construction to minimally impact ongoing services. Our integrated planning process heavily weighs input from all stakeholders: patients and families, administration, healthcare providers, and even support staff. We believe superior healthcare facility design can support wellness for all!

We Love Boise!

Hailing from the eighth floor of the Eighth & Main Building in the heart of downtown, Cushing Terrell Boise is the firm’s second-largest office, home to more than 85 team members trained in architecture, engineering, landscape architecture, interior design, and more!

Between ping pong, slow bike races, and lunchtime board games in the cafe, the team can get competitive, but always in good fun. We apply the same intensity to our clients’ projects. Like Idaho’s capital city itself, Team Boise is tech-savvy, vibrant, and strictly adheres to the “work hard, play hard” mantra.

In 2019, our Boise office became the first building in the U.S. to be certified in the LEED v4.1 Operations and Maintenance: Commercial Interiors rating system. It’s the twenty-fifth project to be certified in this system globally, and the sixth to get Platinum.
