Creating a Powerhouse Team of Interior Designers

Growth means coming together, and this is exactly what our interior design team did as part of a strategic summit held late last year at our office in Austin, Texas.

With 26 interior design professionals across Montana and in major metros such as Austin, Boise, and Seattle, not to mention high-profile national and global clients, the need to establish interior design as its own service sector within our firm was evident. This change helps support our goals to fully capitalize on the talent and expertise in this sector with a focus on collaboration, inclusion, and integration.

This move forward involves promoting additional team members as associate owners, identifying regional leaders, formalizing mentorship opportunities, and ensuring robust support as people move through their career milestones.

Our interior design team aims to positively impact quality of life and culture within the built environment. Through our work, we have the opportunity to influence how people experience their surroundings — how they move through the different spaces they encounter in their daily lives — and it’s incredibly rewarding. We support clients across markets, including commercial, education, government, healthcare, living, and retail.

Qualified by means of education, experience, and examination, we make informed decisions from a specialized knowledge base. Adhering to building, fire, and life safety codes, responsible practices, and evidence-based research, our goal with every project is to formulate solutions that consider and respond to people’s physical, mental, and emotional needs.

A few highlights from 2019:

  • Promoted three interior design team members as associate owners.
  • Completed more than one billion square feet of interior design projects.
  • Established a sustainable interiors working group, with one of the first goals being a revamp of our materials libraries.
  • Established an advocacy committee to ensure seamless integration with other service sectors and a focus on being in step with the latest industry trends, technologies, materials, and ideologies.

Pioneering the design process with multi-disciplinary collaboration, we create spaces that are integrated, responsible, accessible, inclusive, and above all human-centric. We promote health, safety, welfare, and happiness to support and enhance the human condition in any activity.
