New in our portfolio: An illuminating student space

The new amenity space at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, is glass-walled and naturally-lit, welcoming student residents into a 24/7 lounge. It was designed as a comfortable space where students can linger — snack, chat, or study — between classes. After business hours, sliding barn doors separate the grab-and-go market from the lounge without compromising the beautiful, unified space. The market offers artisan beverages, frozen yogurt, and convenient food items.

We partnered with Vaughn Construction and Spectrum Lighting to bring this project to life.

The St. Edwards grab-and-go market and student lounge was designed to be convertible, comfy, and communal.
Students can work, play, read, snack, and socialize, all with full views of the surrounding campus greenery.
At night, colorful LED lighting illuminates the perimeter of the space creating a beacon for wayfinding and a jewel-box atmosphere.
