This multi-phased project at Mercy Medical Center enabled the treatment spaces in the emergency department to grow from twelve to twenty-two spaces total. Patient and staff security was a significant consideration in the department's planning, as well as in segregating the main hospital entrance from the emergency department's public and ambulance approaches
