Idaho Air National Guard (IDANG)

CTA Architects Engineers was contracted with NNAC Construction to design mission critical facilities for the Idaho Air National Guard at the Orchard Combat Training Center. Projects include:

CTA designed a 7,500 sq. ft. controlled waste storage building to be utilized for Class IV material storage and waste transfer at the Orchard Combat Training Center in Orchard, ID. This hazardous waste storage building required special construction, fire protection systems, washing areas for decontamination, and warning and safeguarding systems to prevent contamination.

CTA designed a 6,500 sq. ft. pre-engineered metal building to be used as a DPW/EMO workspace, administration, and supply facility for use by full-time and seasonal employees at the Orchard Combat Training Center in Orchard, ID. The facility includes two large roll-up doors and one interior office.

CTA designed a security fence from the south cantonment area BN storage compounds running west until intersection with Orchard Access Road at the Orchard Combat Training Center in Orchard, ID. The design integrates with the existing tank trails in the vicinity, and provides security for soldiers and equipment.

CTA designed a pre-engineered 40’x60′ metal building overhead cover for a fueler storage parking area at the Orchard Combat Training Center in Orchard, ID. This parking area was designed to fit four 5,000-GA tankers with underground electrical engineering for required security lighting. This has provided 6,400 sq. ft. of new footprint to improve the operational readiness of the Orchard Combat Training Center.

CTA designed a 12-foot-wide, 2.5-mile rail access road along the north side of the rail. This will assist transportation personnel in inspecting railcars and railroad tracks for sun kinks and other damage.

CTA designed 45,000 square yards of new footprint of the rail loading/unloading yard, including a 400,000 sq. ft. improved gravel lot with concrete aprons, concrete loading docks, concrete turn pads, and concrete approaches at the Orchard Combat Training Center in Orchard, ID. A 2,700 ft. security fence was designed with double vehicle gates and security lighting. Overall, this project improved the operational readiness of the Orchard Combat Training Center.

CTA performed site surveying for the Controlled Waste Facility, EMO/ENG Maintenance Facility, Cantonment Fence, Rail Access Road, and NI-18-F10 Railhead Staging Yard Expansion II projects.
